EDITORIAL TRANSPARENCY
How affiliate relationships work at Decively.
Some links on Decively may earn us a commission if you make a purchase or start a subscription. This does not increase the price you pay. This page explains how those relationships work and how we keep commercial considerations separate from our editorial reasoning.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a product or service on another website. If you follow it and make a qualifying purchase, start a subscription or complete another eligible action, the provider or its affiliate service may pay Decively a commission.
The link helps the provider recognise that a referral came from Decively. Tracking methods, the time allowed between a click and a purchase, and the actions that qualify vary by provider and programme.
What this means for the reader
Using an affiliate link does not add a fee to the price you pay. Decively does not charge you for using the link; any commission is paid to us by the provider or its affiliate service.
You buy from, and enter into any subscription or purchase agreement with, the merchant, not Decively. The merchant sets its prices and purchase, refund, renewal and cancellation terms, subject to applicable consumer law.
Using an affiliate link is optional. You can visit the provider’s website directly or choose another seller. Check the offer available through your chosen route before purchasing.
How commercial relationships are disclosed
Our policy is to make commercial relationships clear where they matter to your decision. A disclosure belongs close to the relevant recommendation and before you engage with affiliate links. Longer pages may need repeated notices. This page supports those notices; a link to it in a footer is not a substitute.
Where particular links earn commission, the notice identifies those links and states that relationship directly. Content that is advertising is labelled clearly as “Ad” or “Advertisement”; where the whole article is an ad, that should be apparent before you open it.
For example, a notice for an article containing qualifying affiliate links could read:
“Ad — This article contains affiliate links. Decively earns a commission on qualifying purchases made through these links, at no extra cost to you.”
If content is paid for by a sponsor, or a provider supplies free access, a product or another relevant benefit, that relationship must also be explained prominently and accurately. Vague labels such as “partner link”, “support us” or “collaboration” alone do not explain the financial relationship.
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships must not determine which products are chosen or the conclusions we draw. Affiliate availability does not determine whether a product’s limitations, pricing restrictions or unsuitable use cases are reported.
Reviews and comparisons should explain the evidence, alternatives and trade-offs behind a recommendation. A commission opportunity is not a reason to manufacture a winner or omit a relevant alternative. Products without an affiliate programme can also be covered when they are useful to the reader.
An affiliate relationship is not a blanket endorsement of a merchant or every product it sells. A link does not establish that an option is right for everyone: suitability still depends on your needs, budget and constraints.
Reviews, comparisons and buying guides
Our coverage may draw on official product information, pricing and plan documentation, independent reporting and recurring user feedback. Different articles use different evidence; the basis for a conclusion and any meaningful uncertainty should be clear.
Firsthand use is described only when it has actually taken place. Decively does not claim to have tested every product it mentions. Researching specifications or comparing published information is not the same as personally testing a product.
Reviews examine strengths and limitations. Comparisons weigh alternatives against relevant criteria. Buying guides help readers form a shortlist for a particular need, rather than imply that one choice suits everyone.
Prices, availability and external websites
Prices, features, plan limits, terms and availability can change after an article is written. Before deciding, confirm the current details on the provider’s website, including the total price, taxes or delivery charges, billing period and any renewal or cancellation conditions.
The final price is the one presented by the merchant at checkout. Decively does not control external websites, their content or their transaction processes. The merchant is responsible for the sale and for handling purchases, returns, refunds and subscriptions under its terms and applicable law.
