YOUR INFORMATION

How Decively handles personal information.

Decively publishes reviews, comparisons and buying guides to help people make more considered buying decisions. This page explains what information the website may collect, why it is used and the choices you have. It is Decively’s own explanation. It is not legal advice.

Who this page describes

This policy applies to decively.com, the editorial website operated as Decively. It covers the pages, articles and the contact form published there.

It does not describe the practices of a merchant, an affiliate programme, a payment provider or any other website you reach from a link. Those organisations explain their own practices on their own sites.

Information you choose to send

If you write to Decively through the contact form, we receive the information you submit so the message can be read and answered. That may include your name, email address and the contents of your message.

Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers or other sensitive information through the form. Decively does not sell products on this website and does not take payment from readers here.

Information collected while you browse

When you open a page, the hosting service and the site software may record technical details that are needed for the page to load and for the site to stay secure. Those details can include the browser and device type, the pages requested, the time of the request and an IP address.

An IP address can indicate an approximate location. Decively uses this kind of information to deliver the site, diagnose faults and protect it from abuse. It is not used to sell a profile of you, and you do not need an account to read the site.

Cookies

The site may store small text files, called cookies, or similar data on your browser so a page can function, a preference can be remembered for a visit, or an automated submission can be distinguished from ordinary reading. The details are on the Cookie Policy.

Blocking every cookie can affect parts of the site that rely on them, including protections around the contact form. Your browser settings are the place to review or delete cookies.

Affiliate links and other websites

Some articles link to other websites. A link may be an affiliate link, which means Decively may earn a commission if you buy or subscribe, at no extra cost to you. That relationship is explained on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

After you leave Decively, the other site may collect information under its own policy, including through its own cookies. Check that policy before you create an account, enter payment details or accept its terms.

How long information is kept

Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and to keep a fair record of the correspondence. Technical and security logs are kept for a limited period suited to troubleshooting and protecting the site, and are then deleted or overwritten.

Decively does not keep personal information for longer than those purposes require. If a message must be retained because a legal obligation applies, it is kept only for that reason.

Who receives information

Hosting, email delivery and security tools process information so the website can stay online, so a reply can be sent, and so spam or attacks can be limited. Those providers handle the information for that work.

Decively does not sell, rent or trade personal information. Information may be disclosed if the law requires it, or if it is necessary to investigate abuse of the site.

Your choices

You can read Decively without sending a message. You can control cookies in your browser, as described in the Cookie Policy. Depending on where you live, you may have a right to ask what personal information is held, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to a particular use.

Send that request through the Contact page. Decively may need to confirm that the request relates to you before acting on it, and will respond within a reasonable time. Nothing on this page removes a right that the law where you live does not allow to be removed.

Children

Decively is written for adults who are comparing products, services and buying choices. The site is not directed at children, and Decively does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This page may be updated when the site’s practices change. The date below is the date of the current version. Earlier versions are replaced by the page you are reading.
