Quick verdict: buy it for the apps
Buy the Amazon Alexa Tablet 11 for Google Play, not just Alexa+. It is most compelling if your Fire tablet cannot run the apps you need. The sharper screen helps, too. Skip it for pen-based work; wait for tests if gaming speed or battery endurance is crucial.

Google Play is the real Fire upgrade

YouTube, Gmail and Google Docs are available through Google Play without unofficial workarounds. That solves a real Fire limitation, although each app's tablet layout still varies. If your Fire already handles your streaming and reading, the upgrade is less urgent. Twice the RAM does not prove twice the speed.
A sharper screen, with one important limit
The 11-inch IPS LCD offers 2.5K resolution and 90Hz scrolling. It has more pixels than Fire Max 11, but outdoor readability and glare remain untested here.
Amazon lists an aluminium body, two Dolby Atmos speakers and 8MP front/rear cameras. Nanomatte is a Tablet 12 Pro option. For mainly books, compare a Kindle Paperwhite: this is a backlit LCD tablet, not E Ink.
Check Alexa+ eligibility before buying
The US listing says Alexa+ requires a US-based Amazon account and US English. Do not assume that hardware shipping in your country means the same assistant features work with your local account or language.
Amazon describes the on-tablet Alexa+ experience as free and focused. Full Alexa+ access on other compatible Alexa and Echo devices requires Prime or an Alexa+ subscription; that is a different condition from using the tablet itself.
On-Screen Intelligence lets Alexa use screen content as context. Amazon says it is off by default, requires opt-in and shows an indicator when active. You can switch it off. These are Amazon's stated controls, not a Decively privacy audit.
Battery and storage: choose for your downloads
Amazon claims up to 15 hours of video playback, not 15 hours of games, calls or mixed use. Fire Max 11's up-to-14-hour mixed-use claim uses a different workload; those figures do not prove a one-hour improvement.
The linked model has 64GB, partly used by system software. Amazon's developer documentation lists no external storage. Consider 128GB for downloaded films and large games; 64GB is easier to justify for mostly streaming.
WIRED's launch coverage confirms Google Play, but supplies no measured Tablet 11 battery result. Hands-on impressions of the 12 Pro cannot establish this model's performance.

Shortlist it when Google Play fixes a specific Fire limitation. Graphite 64GB without lockscreen ads suits mostly streaming. Wait for measured reviews if speed, outdoor visibility or battery will decide the purchase.
