The HY300 Pro makes sense as a low-cost way to try a bigger picture in a dark bedroom. It is harder to recommend as a main TV replacement. The buying decision starts with the exact version: HY300 Pro listings can describe different chipsets, Android versions and streaming capabilities.
Quick verdict
Consider it for occasional, dark-room viewing if the complete setup stays inexpensive and the seller identifies the version clearly. Choose something else for daytime viewing, sharp desktop text or dependable built-in premium streaming. “4K supported” does not make its 720p picture native 4K. Verify the actual listing rather than buying on the model name alone.

The details that change the buying decision
| Check | Buying implication |
|---|---|
| Native picture | Magcubic’s current product page lists 1280 × 720. Higher-resolution input support does not add native display pixels. |
| Brightness | The current Magcubic page advertises 200 ANSI lumens. That is not a Decively measurement or proof that a different listing performs identically. |
| Version | The current Magcubic listing specifies Android 14 and an Allwinner H726 chip. Older reviews examined Android 11 models; do not combine their specifications. |
| Placement | The current page advertises a rotating stand and automatic vertical keystone correction. Confirm focus controls, connections and usable placement distance for the exact version. |
| Streaming | An Android version or app icon alone is not confirmation of certified Netflix playback. Check the required service and resolution. |
| Power and plug | Magcubic lists DC power, an included adapter and no battery, with EU, US, UK and AU plug choices. A portable shape does not establish battery operation. |
The linked Temu listing is sold by MagcubicNEW and identifies the projector as HY300PRO, native 1280 × 720. The checked EU option lists 220–240V mains power, a Type C plug and no battery. Its title advertises 290 ANSI and BT5.3, while the description says 260 ANSI and Bluetooth 5.0. Treat those conflicting figures as seller claims, not measurements; confirm the chipset, Android version and adapter before ordering.
Is the HY300 Pro really a 4K projector?
Not in the native-resolution sense. Magcubic’s HY300 Pro guide separates its 720p display from higher-resolution content support. Think of the input as what the projector can process and the native panel as the detail it can actually show.
Our buying advice is to judge it as an inexpensive HD projector. A large diagonal can make a film feel more immersive, but it does not make subtitles, spreadsheets or small interface text sharper. If fine detail matters more than screen size, compare native 1080p models.
What do independent tests say about the picture and noise?
In its January 2026 hands-on test of an older Android 11 Magcubic HY300 Pro, Smartzone measured 165 ANSI lumens, below the 290-ANSI claim associated with that unit. Its reviewer found a usable picture with controlled light, but also reported an audible fan, weak sound and software rough edges. Those findings are useful context, not measurements of the current H726 model or an unverified Temu variant.
Netzwelt’s November 2025 test was less enthusiastic about picture sharpness and motion, and also criticised noise and sound. The difference in impressions is another reason to avoid treating every HY300 Pro as one identical product.
For a first projector, plan around a room you can darken and a clean, flat surface. Do not assume a seller’s largest advertised image will look equally convincing in your room.
Can you watch Netflix without another device?
Magcubic’s own guide says Netflix availability depends on certification, region, software and device compatibility. That is more useful than assuming a preinstalled icon guarantees the experience you want.
AndroidPCtv tested an Android 11/H713 unit in April 2025 and reported Netflix at 540p and Prime Video at 480p. Netzwelt likewise found SD playback for those services on its tested unit. These are older-device results, not a promise about current firmware.
If you intend to use an external streaming player, check that the exact projector has the required input and that the chosen player supports your service in your country. Include its power supply and purchase price in the budget. Casting from a phone is not a guaranteed substitute for a supported playback device.
Check the version and software support before buying
The Temu product linked here is listing 601099620737269, sold by MagcubicNEW. The seller page does not clearly establish its chipset or Android version, and its brightness/Bluetooth descriptions conflict. Magcubic’s current direct-store product page describes Android 14/H726. Do not assume that the Temu unit is the same revision just because both are called HY300 Pro.
There is also a software-support question worth asking. In an official statement, Magcubic addressed concerns about APK files on certain H713-series devices. The company denies that those files contain malware and says it switched to H726 hardware without the APK in question. That statement is the manufacturer’s position, not an independent security audit or assurance covering every third-party listing.
Ask the seller which firmware and support route apply to your unit. If clear answers are unavailable, that uncertainty should count in the purchase decision.
What is a sensible total price for the setup?
Magcubic’s official product page displayed US$60.24 when checked on October 30, 2026. That is a dated reference for the selected store variant, not a verified Temu price or a guaranteed delivered price in every market. Check the seller, colour, plug and checkout total you actually receive.
Add anything you genuinely need: a compatible streaming player, the right cable or adapter, audio and a suitable surface. A low projector price can be less compelling once the setup grows. Compare that complete basket with a better-specified alternative.
If you are using a marketplace promotion, our Temu coupon troubleshooting guide explains why a code may fail. A discount is useful only after the product and seller meet your needs.
Before you choose a HY300 Pro listing
Identify the unit: model and seller, chipset, Android version, native resolution and the exact power adapter. Check whether the listing is Pro, Pro+, Ultra or another variant.
Confirm your use: room lighting, placement space, focus adjustment, required streaming service and whether extra hardware is needed. Read the return policy and local warranty route before ordering.
Our verdict: it can be a worthwhile inexpensive experiment for occasional dark-room viewing. It becomes a weaker buy when you expect TV-like convenience or spend heavily fixing its limitations. For an everyday setup, dependable streaming and a clear upgrade in native picture quality may justify a higher initial budget.
Research notes
Research checked October 30, 2026. This is a research-based buying guide; Decively has not tested a HY300 Pro. We checked current Magcubic specifications and its software statement, plus original hands-on reports by Smartzone, AndroidPCtv and Netzwelt. Review dates, older hardware and current manufacturer claims are separated in the text. The linked Temu seller page and affiliate share link were checked October 30: MagcubicNEW, goods ID 601099620737269. The EU option specifies 220–240V/Type C/no battery. Conflicting brightness and Bluetooth claims are identified above; chipset, Android revision and streaming certification remain unconfirmed. The promotional landing page showed new-app-user eligibility; no universal price or global sales rank is claimed. Local checkout, plug availability and return terms must be checked for the specific listing.
