Quick verdict: worth it for regular meal prep
The Ninja PREPi PN351 is worth considering if you regularly prepare salads, shredded vegetables and ingredients for several meals. Its useful difference is two processing bowls that also work for serving and refrigerated storage. Choose the PN351 bundle if evenly diced ingredients are part of that routine.
Skip it for an occasional onion or if your existing processor already handles these jobs. The convenience has a trade-off: several attachments to wash and store. This review combines official specifications with Pamela Vachon’s independent CNET test; Decively has not tested it firsthand.

Base-kit comparison. Some PN301 retailer bundles also add the dicing kit; check included accessories rather than the model number alone.
The linked US listing is PN351, Black+Dicing Kit, ASIN B0HFSZKPRR. It is not the plain Black PN301BK1 option. SharkNinja also sells PN351 in Copper and Teal, so a color name alone does not identify the bundle.
Both core systems include a 500-watt motor and 5-cup and 7-cup bowls with storage lids. Compare the current price difference before buying: the PN351 upgrade pays for dicing, not bigger bowls. Chopping and dicing solve different jobs
Generated Decively illustration of cut shapes; not a PREPi test result.
Chopping breaks ingredients into smaller pieces; it does not guarantee matching cubes. That is fine for sauces or a rough vegetable base. The dedicated kit is the reason to consider PN351 for more consistent pieces in salads, salsa or diced potatoes.
Pay extra only if you will use that cut regularly. Ninja advertises fast, even dicing, but we have not verified its speed claims independently. Do not assume a faster cutting step also means faster setup and cleanup.
Two bowls help when you prep separate ingredients
Generated Decively illustration using generic plastic bowls, not PREPi product photos. Remove processing attachments before fitting a storage lid.
Prepare one batch, remove the processing parts and fit a storage lid. The second bowl remains available for another ingredient. That can avoid transferring everything into a separate container before continuing. PREPi prepares food; it does not cook it.
Vachon found this flexibility useful and identified the bowls as plastic. This is not a glass-container appliance like the Ninja Crispi DualZone. The two-bowl workflow is the convenience; the attachments still need cleaning between jobs.
Ninja PREPi: the compromises found in testing
In CNET’s October 2 review, Vachon reported three practical frustrations: handle-free bowls were less secure to hold while scraping out food; the lid clips sometimes needed adjustment; and some ingredients sat beyond the blade’s reach until she paused and scraped down the bowl.
She also found that the two bowls do not nest inside each other. A compact motor does not mean the complete kit takes up little cupboard space. Those are one reviewer’s findings, not proof of a widespread defect. There is not yet enough long-term evidence to judge durability.
Ninja PREPi PN351: common buying questions
What comes with the Ninja PREPi PN351?
PN351 includes the 500-watt motor pod, 5-cup and 7-cup bowls with storage lids and spindles, a dicing kit, a crinkle-cut disc, a reversible slicing/shredding disc and a chop/purée blade. Check the selected listing’s included accessories: some PN301 retailer bundles also add the dicing kit.
Is the PN351 dicing kit worth paying extra for?
Choose it if you regularly want consistent cubes for salads, salsa or diced potatoes. For rough chopping, slicing and shredding, the base PN301 may already cover your needs. Compare the current bundle price gap and allow for cleaning and storing the extra parts.
Is the Ninja PREPi dishwasher-safe?
Ninja’s PN300-series FAQ, which includes PN351, says the attachments are top-rack dishwasher-safe. Remove the blade or disc assembly from the bowl before loading and handle sharp edges carefully. The motor pod is not dishwasher-safe: switch it off, unplug it and wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.
Buy PN351 for dicing, not just the newest gadget
Choose PN351 if repeated vegetable prep and consistent diced pieces justify another appliance. Choose PN301 if slicing, shredding, crinkle cuts and rough chopping cover your needs. Keep a capable existing processor if the two-bowl storage workflow would not change how you cook.
Check the exact bundle, current price and return terms. Outside North America, verify the electrical rating before importing: SharkNinja specifies 120 volts for its US PN351. A plug adapter does not convert voltage. Delivery eligibility and warranty coverage also need checking.
