The Logitech PRO X3 LIGHTSPEED is a gaming headset for buyers who care as much about being heard as hearing the game. Announced on 23 September 2026, it gives existing PRO X2 owners a specific upgrade question: is better voice chat worth replacing a headset that still works?
Quick verdict
Buy it for a microphone-led upgrade, especially if you want one wireless headset for gaming and voice chat. Keep a comfortable PRO X2 if your microphone already meets your needs. Reviewers identify clearer speech more convincingly than a dramatic improvement in game audio.
The checks that matter before buying
| Buying check | What to know |
|---|---|
| US store snapshot | $249.99 and in stock on 20 October 2026; not a worldwide price or delivery promise. |
| Microphone / sound | Detachable 48 kHz/16-bit boom; 50 mm graphene drivers; 10-band parametric EQ. |
| Connections | USB-A LIGHTSPEED receiver, Bluetooth 5.3 and 3.5 mm AUX. No simultaneous wireless audio mixing. |
| Supported wireless systems | Logitech lists Windows, macOS and PS5 for LIGHTSPEED. Do not assume Xbox USB-wireless support. |
| Battery / weight | Up to 70 hours claimed; 356 g specified. Neither is a Decively test result. |
| Everyday omissions | No ANC and no physical game/chat balance dial. |
The microphone is the upgrade to evaluate

T3’s Max Freeman-Mills, after two weeks of use, heard a substantial microphone improvement over the X2 but little difference in headphone sound. That makes this a stronger purchase for frequent team chat than for someone chasing a transformative listening upgrade.
Tom’s Guide’s Peter Wolinski found the default microphone acceptable and preferred the fuller result from the BLUE VO!CE Broadcast 2 preset. His voice recordings are useful evidence that software settings matter; the advertised sampling rate alone cannot tell you how natural you will sound.
Our buying interpretation: try the available processing before replacing other equipment. If your current headphones are comfortable and only your voice needs improving, a separate microphone may be the more targeted purchase; see our Logitech Yeti 2 buying guide.
Comfort: reviewers disagree, so fit matters
T3 reported comfortable three-hour sessions. Tom’s Guide liked the cushioning and gentle clamp but found the earcups too warm, including with the alternative pads. These are different personal experiences, not a controlled comfort comparison.
Treat that disagreement as a reason to check return terms and assess the headset in your own room. Soft padding does not guarantee cool ears, particularly during long sessions. The detachable microphone is also less convenient to stow than a retractable design.
Battery and Bluetooth: know what is actually proven
Logitech rates endurance at up to 70 hours. ProSettings’ Lars described charging about weekly while using it for work and gaming; that is an ownership observation, not a timed 70-hour result. We found no comparable full-discharge measurement in these reviews, so actual endurance remains workload-dependent.
Use LIGHTSPEED for your gaming setup and treat Bluetooth as another connection mode. ProSettings and Tom’s Guide both report that the two cannot play simultaneously. If you routinely take phone calls while listening to a game, this limitation can outweigh a better microphone.
Is it worth replacing a PRO X2?
Usually only when microphone quality is a recurring problem. ProSettings praised the X3’s microphone and deeper equalizer. Combined with T3’s limited perceived sound change, the evidence supports a communications upgrade rather than an automatic replacement for every X2 owner.
For a first premium gaming headset, compare the current total cost with alternatives offering the features you actually need. For an existing owner, the relevant cost is the replacement purchase against an already usable headset. Neither a newer name nor a battery claim establishes better value.
PC customization is part of the appeal: Logitech ties BLUE VO!CE and detailed EQ to its software. Do not assume every processing feature carries over unchanged to a console or Bluetooth device. Check your intended platform before ordering; stock, warranty and pricing also vary by country.
Common questions
Does the PRO X3 LIGHTSPEED have ANC?
No. Its earcups provide passive isolation, but it does not offer active noise cancellation.
Can it mix Bluetooth and game audio?
No. The independent reviews report switching between Bluetooth and LIGHTSPEED rather than listening to both together.
